You might know who someone is on an old photo, but you might wonder who took that picture.
The file name is Mom downtown in Gan 1946.jpeg…
So that’s someone’s mother who had her photo taken in downtown Gananoque in 1946.
But who was that relative visiting from Massachusetts? We might never know.
However…
Therese Pearl Sherboneau is 21 on that photo. She was the daughter of Louis Peter Sherbonneau and Elizabeth Dodds. Therese was born on November 9th, 1925.
Therese had nine these siblings:

Louis Harold Sherboneau 1941–1994
Little did Therese knew in 1946 that she was a direct descendant of Olivier Charbonneau.
Olivier Charbonneau immigrated from France in 1659. and settled in Pointe-aux-Trembles. He quickly build the first water mill in the region and then carried on his trade of miller. Of his five children two sons, Jean and Joseph, would leave many descendants one of which was Therese Pearl.
Fast forward…
Well back a little in the Township of Seneca in the County of Haldimand in 1861.

Our Ancestors II 
This reminded me that the nuns who ran my Catholic elementary school (St. Joseph’s in Brookfield, CT) came from Quebec. The head nun (who was also the school Principal) was Sister Pauline Charbonneau.
